Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is trying his luck again this summer as he reveals he has agreed personal terms with another Premier League side. The Belgium international refused to name the club but many can guess.

Lukaku said he knows the direction his career is headed and that his reps are aware of his decision. The former Chelsea forward said his reps and him are “staying calm” as there is a direction to be followed. The Toffees star, who is on international duty, told the Belgian media that he would be playing in the Champions League next season, claiming his innermost desires is to win trophies.

Lukaku said he is trying to win the Premier League once or a few times while challenging for the Champions League trophy. He claimed it is progress as a player as he wants to grow beyond his current level. He says he knows where he wants to go to achieve that and is willing to make the necessary sacrifices.

There are reports that Diego Costa said Antonio Conte no longer wants him at Stamford Bridge. This is surprising as the Spaniard was the highest goalscorer for the team last term. The issue might be due to the links with Atletico Madrid and China or the player’s age. But Conte seems set to bring another striker of his own to the team.

Costa’s goals, shot on target and chances created have been crucial to Chelsea’s results since his move. With Chelsea looking at defending their Premier League title and playing in the Champions League, one would have expected that Conte would hold on to him for at least another year while getting another striker as support. Top talents would be expensive in the market.

Not many will blame Conte though as Costa’s future is one issue that is constantly up for speculation. He would be 29 this year and with the Blues having the option of Lukaku, it seems not a bad move afterall.
