When you think about Romelu Lukaku it is always difficult to place him as an extremely fast player. Berated by many for his poor first touch the attacker looks like a hulky frontman with decent pace across the pitch.

However, many that have followed his career from his West Brom days would know that a lean and fully fit Lukaku is one of the fastest number 9 in the world.  The 25-year-old has in recent weeks showed his best form under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer after looking like a shadow of himself for most parts of the season.

His display away at PSG was of the highest quality as he capitalized on a poor mix up at the back in a display of pace and power to dribble past an onrushing Buffon for the first goal. His second goal was pure anticipation as he followed through on a spilled shot from Marcus Rashford.

Belgium has finally regained his importance after his £75million move from Everton last season.  The25-year-old recently claimed on an Instagram Post that he was the fastest player at United and quicker than Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw.

Many fans were sceptical about the claim as it is generally believed by many that Rashford and Martial are the quickest players in the team. According to OptaLukaku has the fastest speed this season and features three times on the top 10 list.

DiogoDalot and Ashley Young are surprise candidates on the list with Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw rounding off the list.  Lukaku has the first two speeds achieved against Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers and Huddersfield Town.

Manchester United currently lie fifth on the league table sitting two points below Arsenal in the battle for the last Champions League spot.
