Jordi Alba will be on the pitch against Real Madrid in Saturday’s La Liga match.

The left-back who was expected to be out longer with an injury has recovered just time to boost his team chances against their fierce rivals.

Jordi Alba picked up an injury when playing for his national team, Spain in a game against Romania. There were fears that the ankle injury was a serious one and would require a lengthy treatment. However, Alba recovered quicker than expected and should be declared fit to play against Real Madrid.

Jordi Alba played the full 90 minutes of the friendly against Romania in a game that finished 0-0.

Alba joined Barcelona in 2012 from Valencia for a €14 million transfer fee after having made some great performances in La Liga. Indeed, he managed 110 appearances for Valencia and scored 6 goals along the way.

He started his Barcelona career with a game against Real Sociedad in a game where his team won 5-1. His first goal for his new club came in a game against Deportivo La Coruna. So far he has made 148 appearances for Barcelona and has scored 7 goals.

On the international front, Jordi Alba has represented Spain 41 times and has scored 6 goals for his country. He was part of the team that won the Euros 2012.

Another player that has returned quickly to the Barcelona team is Neymar. It was believed that the Brazilian player will stay back a little longer in Brazil after his international duties, but he made it back to the Nou Camp on Tuesday for the training sessions. He is also expected to be on the pitch against Real Madrid as Barcelona will want to take a decisive lead for the Spanish title.
